At Ankura, we believe giving birth should be an empowering, informed and supported journey. That’s why we launched Prep and Push, a comprehensive childbirth-education programme designed to guide, prepare, and support expectant mothers (and their partners) through pregnancy, labour, delivery and early motherhood.
What is Prep and Push?
Prep and Push is an initiative by Ankura Hospital for Women & Children that goes beyond clinical care. It provides expectant parents with knowledge, emotional support, physical preparation and postpartum guidance so that childbirth becomes a confident, calm and positive experience.
What Prep and Push Offers – From Pregnancy To Parenthood
• Labour Preparation & Delivery Readiness
We guide mothers on safe breathing techniques, posture, relaxation methods, and physical readiness, preparing the body and mind for a smoother labour and birth.
• Clear Understanding of the Birth Process
Our sessions demystify childbirth, what happens during each stage, what to expect, how the body changes; helping remove anxiety, fear, and confusion.
• Emotional & Psychological Support
Pregnancy and childbirth are as much emotional journeys as physical ones. Prep and Push offers counselling, mental-health support, and stress/anxiety management to help mothers and partners stay calm, confident, and emotionally prepared.
• Postpartum & Newborn-Care Guidance
After birth, the programme continues to support mothers with recovery advice, lactation and breastfeeding support, newborn care education, and guidance for early postnatal days — ensuring a smoother transition into parenthood.
• Holistic Support from a Multidisciplinary Team
Prep and Push brings together obstetricians, paediatricians, midwives, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and lactation specialists — offering a well-rounded support system for mother and baby.
